In his technical role, Hajime trains and supervises the ILS technical support staff who respond to requests from our clients. Hajime takes pride in his team’s ability to respond to clients in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
As Manager of ILS’ Linguistic Services group, Hajime oversees various linguistic services for ILS, including machine translation, foreign language document review, interpretation for depositions and trials, and certified translations. Hajime has led the translation efforts for several notable mass torts, including litigations related to Toyota’s unintended acceleration, Takata combustible airbags, and the Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal.
Hajime holds a Bachelor’s degree from Kyoto University and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He is certified as a Japanese translator by the American Translators Association (ATA) and is the Assistant Administrator of the ATA’s Japanese Language Division. Before joining ILS, Hajime had a successful freelance translation practice for nearly 20 years.
